The joke hasn't aged well because posts like this one fail to give clues to the joke. The joke is that the "Demon Core" isn't an artifact in a game and there's no treasure in it; and there's not mystical quality to it. It's a sphere with a hole in it so that the radioactivity has an escape and doesn't overheat the core. What this character is trying to pry apart, so carelessly, is infact the minimum thick lead shielding host around the highly radioactive core. Like, the simple act of prying it from the host shield could set it off like a dirty bomb. Alas, The artist fails to make the character more cartoony and deliberate in their actions for a funier delivery. So, this comes across as more of a dark humor that missed the punch line, for me.
