it wasn't a /completely/ one-sided relationship that the girl and the tree had.

the tree was...a tree. and the girl was just a girl.

but when the two came together, and she snuggled up against the refreshingly sturdy wood of the trunk, it was almost an instant effect.

she took a deep breath of leafy air, exhaling stress and weariness-- the tree, in turn, looked a bit greener and grew a bit better.

one could almost call them friends.
